The MT4 Sliding Tailstock Die Holder Set is a precision lathe threading tool designed for cutting accurately aligned external metric threads using standard button dies. Built for smooth operation and reliable results, this tool is suitable for both professional machinists and serious hobby users.

Button dies are mounted in interchangeable die holders that fit securely into the front of a knurled sliding sleeve. The sleeve slides freely on a fixed arbor, which is mounted in the lathe tailstock using a Morse Taper 4 (MT4) shank. This construction ensures correct alignment with the workpiece, allowing the die to follow the thread naturally for smooth, controlled threading and reduced risk of cross-threading.

The die holder supports three modes of operation to suit different thread sizes and cutting conditions. Free-hand mode is ideal for smaller threads, while pegged sleeve and stop handle modes provide additional control for larger or tougher threading operations under power.

Supplied with eight metric die holders ranging from 16mm to 65mm, this versatile set covers a wide range of threading applications, making it an essential accessory for lathe workshops and machining environments.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
